A friend of ours has been inviting us up to Rhinebeck, a town two hours north of New York City in the Hudson Valley, for nearly a year. I continue to hear amazing things about the area—a lot of people who are tired of/put off by the Hamptons/Montauk scene head north on the weekend—and I’m so thankful we were finally able to find a weekend to make the trip.
This weekend just happened to be the closing weekend of the Dutchess County Fair, a huge annual event that draws crowds from all across the region. The last time I went to a county fair must have been in high school and back then I was into stuffing my face with fried foods and sugar. Now that I’m
a little older very mature, I was looking forward to some other things a fair has to offer, like starter homes and folding rocking chairs. Naturally.
