New Orleans itself is a living art display, and the city is full of ornate, luxury items on display everywhere you look. Until I have a castle in Versailles that is appropriate to house those wares, I’ll focus on my own style of art collection—things I like to look at and can afford.
I found these pen + watercolors on Frenchman Street and fell in love the artist’s style, energy and use of colors (not to mention we always stay on St. Charles Ave and my first trip to New Orleans was for my birthday and happened to coincide with Mardi Gras, which makes the right painting especially fantastic). I’m the laziest framer in the world, so these are currently on exhibit in NYC on the bulletin board above my desk. Lovely, just the same.
I love this image. So pleasant. I always end up staring at it. (via Garance Dore)
